Karen Schreiber

In today’s economy, companies are looking at new ways to streamline and simplify their budgeting / forecasting processes while providing improved forecast accuracy, thereby allowing the company to be more nimble in this economic environment.Previous strategies of going to great levels of detail over the years created a false sense of security.  Companies are looking for ways that they can turn their FP&A function into efficient and effective “machines” that provide insights into the drivers behind the financial results.  With limited capital spend, clients are very focused on fixing the processes first and then following up with the technology to sustain those changes.  Today’s session will cover some of the latest BPM strategies and two case study examples where companies have moved away from the “annual budget” event with 1000’s of supporting spreadsheets to more driver based methods to give them a directionally correct answer.  These companies have managed to simplify the data sets they use to drive their financial forecasts and improve the forecast accuracy resulting in real insights for their executive teams.

The C-level executives (CXO’s) are puzzled rightfully, why projects in Master Data Management (MDM) for Customer domain (CDI – Customer Data Integration) are so complex, time consuming and too expensive when the subject matter is simply the "CUSTOMER" data.  Achieving nirvana for a robust CDI solution is far fetched given the maturity level at present of CDI/MDM technologies.  It is in this context that this paper makes an attempt to provide a direction with golden rules [Best Practices], distilled with years of experience to smoothen any CDI implementation.

Automated Document Delivery via Email and Fax

1:00PM-1:45PM

VT440

Ben Bruno, STR

This presentation is intended to educate users, developers, managers, and executives of companies using Oracle E-Business Suite to automate and maintain the distribution of business documents.
In late 2004, Oracle Corporation introduced XML Publisher (also known as BI Publisher and is hereafter referred to as XMLP) available on Oracle EBS 11i.  XMLP effectively eliminates the need for third-party tools to create electronic forms.  Standard tools like Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word may be used to create a form, and “tokens” place data (such as the company, address, PO number, line items, etc.) from the Oracle database directly onto the form.  By using common applications to simplify forms creation and offering a delivery mechanism, XMLP greatly improves the efficiency of the document delivery process.
This presentation will include the pros and cons of the native email and fax functionality of Oracle EBS and XMLP.  It will also describe the features critical to integrated document delivery solutions.  Finally, several case studies will be provided.

CRM on Demand  by CD Group

2:00PM-2:45PM

Mike Hoskin
CD Group

Organizations such as Gartner, Forrester Research, and others have all cited studies and statistics indicating the rise of Software as a Service, or SaaS solutions.  These types of solutions offer the user a hosted system for a monthly fee.  The value is short, quick implementation times, low up-front investment dollars, and latest revision software.
The same organizations have noted the growth in CRM solutions.  Considering today’s market conditions, where top-line growth is paramount, CRM offers companies a tool to monitor the activities of internal sales & marketing functions, as well as the progress of their pipeline opportunities.
Oracle CRM On Demand combines these two hot phenomena for a solution that is taking off in the marketplace.  There are standard integration points for the JDE user community as well as custom offerings.  We will review market data to provide a backdrop, then take a macro look at the latest solution from Oracle in this market space.
